A communication disorder is an impairment in the ability to receive, send, process, and comprehend concepts or verbal, nonverbal and graphic symbol systems. A communication disorder may be evident in the processes of hearing, language, and/or speech.

Feeding Disorders
Difficulty gathering and manipulating food or liquid for sucking, chewing, or swallowing that can affect the ability to maintain adequate nutritional intake while safely consuming food or liquids.
Vocal Cord Dysfunction
Caused by the dis-coordinated and/or incomplete opening of the vocal cords, resulting in symptoms such as chronic cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, "wheezing,” lightheadedness, and difficulty swallowing.
Myofunctional (Tongue Thrust) Disorders
Also known as tongue thrusting, this disorder is caused by abnormal pressure on the tongue against the teeth during swallowing, resulting in problems with articulation and dental misalignment.
