Services for adolescents & adults
CTSPS provides services for adults and pediatrics including evaluations as well as articulation therapy, language therapy, swallowing therapy and voice therapy. Services are available in Spanish and English and address a variety of disorders and concerns.
Communication Disorders
A communication disorder is an impairment in the ability to receive, send, process, and comprehend concepts or verbal, nonverbal and graphic symbol systems. A communication disorder may be evident in the processes of hearing, language, and/or speech.

Dysphagia (Swallowing) Disorders
Dysphagia is difficulty swallowing due to various medical conditions that damage sensation or weaken muscle strength or cause dis-coordination of the muscles involved in swallowing.
Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD)
VCD is caused by the dis-coordinated and/or incomplete opening of the vocal cords, resulting in symptoms such as chronic cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, "wheezing", light-headedness, and difficulty swallowing.
Myofunctional (Tongue Thrust) Disorders
Tongue Thrust is caused by abnormal pressure on the tongue against the teeth during swallowing, resulting in problems with articulation and dental misalignment.
